           Franklin Parish Council on Aging provides the means for the elderly 60 years of age and older to retain their dignity, remain independent, and continue being productive members of society. Services provided are as follows; hot nutritious meals in a congregate setting, frozen meals five days a week to the home-bound, trasportation services for doctor appointments, shopping and business appointments to those who have no means of transportation, homemaker services to the home-bound, recreation, information and assistance,nutrition education, national family caregiver referral, telephoning, and visiting to the rural and isolated areas focusing on the minority, disabled and low income population.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          Franklin Council on Aging serves approximately 16,424 meals annually to the seniors at the senior Center plus two meal sites. There are approximately 13,500 meals delivered annually to home-bound seniors who are unable to prepare lunches. These meals allow them to remain in the home. Together, these meals cost approximately $181,000 per year. These funds would be used to help offset the cost of the meals.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          To continue to provide congregatge meals in an active inviroment for their well being and to continue to provide the home-bound elderly with meals that will allow them to remain in their homes as long as possible.
