We expect to provide in excess of 30,000 encounters for a projected 19,000 or more unduplicated patients to the site. Data from the surrounding service areas indicates there is an uninsured or low income population of 68,778 lives whereas only 7% of this population have healthcare providers. There is a dire need and the means to act are clearly evident. Based on planning (with new access point funding), Global and other CHCs will eventually provide a direct medical home to alleviate the rampaging and episodic care which costs the nation, the state, and the public as a whole, millions in wasted healthcare costs. Global will provide THE safety net that will thwart and change the health care trajectory of many of these citizens from one of adverse conditions to positive health outcomes and drastically improved health status.
