          The Louisiana Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth seeks to use state funds to support programs and services that enhance the academic success, emotional well-being, mental health, and practical stability of homeless children, youth, parents, and families. These funds will be used to provide educational enrichment opportunities such as field trips, college tours, workshops, seminars, and related activities that expand learning experiences, encourage personal growth, and strengthen family engagement. The purpose is to reduce barriers to education, promote equal access to learning opportunities, and foster self-sufficiency among families experiencing homelessness, thereby contributing to the overall welfare and educational advancement of Louisiana’s children, youth, and families.

          Goal 1: Improve the academic success of homeless children and youth.
Objective 1.1: Provide tutoring, mentoring, and academic support services to help students meet or exceed grade-level standards.
Objective 1.2: Organize educational enrichment activities such as field trips, college tours, and workshops to enhance learning experiences and encourage future educational aspirations.
Objective 1.3: Collaborate with schools and local agencies to ensure consistent school attendance and access to educational resources.
