Provide a summary of the project or program:
           NELEA is one of eight economic development regions in the state. The region covers 10 Parishes with the hub of the region being Monroe/West Monroe, Louisiana . Parishes served are Ouachita, Union, Morehouse, West Carroll, East Carroll, Madison, Tensas, Richland, Caldwell and Franklin Parishes.

We will :
• continue a targeted marketing program for Northeast Louisiana to match our resources to industry needs with the objective of substantial job creation in Northeast Louisiana.

• Increase the viable assets such as certified sites, development ready communities and asset identification are key components to job development

• Through partnering with our universities and community college, workforce development and utilizing state and federal programs and initiatives, we will improve our workforce in readiness for continued job creation. We will participate in Jump Start.

• assist our communities in accessing resources for local development through grant applications and leveraging our resources for the benefit of local economic development and regional economic development

• continue to develop relationships in target industries that have historically successfully worked for us in job creation
• develop industry relationships that have led to market opportunities such as the auto industry relationship that has led us to their clients seeking to locate
• continue to develop our asset base and continue to update and have current regional asset information available for existing business and prospects including lists of all schools, churches, hospitals, public offices and public officials

• develop promotional materials
• Continue to provide due diligence, marketing, advertising, and other services in partnership with La. Economic Development for Franklin Farm Mega Site

• continue to provide technical assistance to business and prospects, where requested and networking where value added is apparent

          work to develop opportunities for home based businesses and people interested in pursuing Start-up businesses
• Continue our commitment to development of certified sites will result in several approved sites in the coming year and increase our job creation opportunities in the process. We have a goal of having a site in each Parish

• work with communities to increase the value offered in infrastructure to sites and local initiatives to improve their communities

Job Creation

Workforce inhancement, especially for entry level jobs through high school course additions and JumpStart


What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Retain Jobs: We call on the economic drivers of each Parish. We determine if the co has new or ongoing needs, whether contracting, expanding or stable and an array of information to assess the condition of the region

Create Jobs: Our Franklin Farm site is being marketed to create a large number of jobs at once. FastStart is the conduit to a trained workforce at startup

Upgrade the Labor Force: Partnering with LED, Entergy, and Workforce Development, we are going to get C4M into 25 high schools creating a pipeline of 600 students per semester, workforce ready for manufacturing

Ready Communities for economic development and target opportunities: We are working with 5 Parishes to ready their communities for economic development on the local level


Continue to add to the portfolio of Certified Sites in NE Louisiana; We have 6 certified sites and will have two more by year end.

Keep Buildings available portfolio for each Parish. In answering RFPs, prospects are looking for ready buildings.

Prospect missions with companies seeking to locate in the Southern Part of the US

Continue partnership with longterm companies who are in construction an architectural design and engineering.

Continue to collect leads from within and through usual contacts
