           NOMMA is an open-enrollment public high school that provides academic and character development program to students from multiple parishes in LA.
The student population is over 80% Economically Disadvantaged. All students are cadets in the Marine Corps JROTC program (NOMMA is largest MCJROTC unit in the nation). The academy offers both college preparatory and career/technical education pathways. This project enables expansion of current campus and increased enrollment. The project includes 3 phases to provide newly constructed buildings and renovation/repurpose of a historic building. Phase I includes: 1) two-story 35,000 square foot building containing classrooms, labs, and office space to support additional students and staff, 2) site improvements creating parade ground to support JROTC training, competition activities, and student drop-off loop, 3) renovation of 7,000 square foot building to provide additional specialty classrooms and office space to support the JROTC program and Maritime Career Technical Education Program.

          NOMMA provides public educational services (academic and character development) to students, grades 8 - 12, from multiple LA parishes. This request is in support of campus expansion to create an appropriate permanent campus and provide educational services to an increased number of students. This request is in support of the 1st phase of a 3-phase program to create an appropriate campus that will enable increased enrollment to 1,200 students (existing students approximate 900). This includes new construction, renovation of a historic building and additional college preparatory and career/technical training spaces. Initial funds will be used for architectural design and development.

          Reinforce success. Continue to provide high-performing, open-enrollment, military style education institution with proven track record of success, increase ability to provide high quality academic and character development program to an increased number of Louisiana youth.
