What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          To bid upon, coordinate and manage sporting events on behalf of the State of Louisiana for the economic benefit of local, regional, and state businesses and our citizens. The State’s business economy will benefit from additional tax dollars being generated. The State will also receive positive media recognition associated with the sporting events secured and managed by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. GNOSF events not only increase visitation to Louisiana but also improve the public perception of Louisiana as a business, travel, sport and recreation destination.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The goals are to assist in continuation of the operation of the GNOSF in order to manage the current events in the fiscal year, keep the future events currently under contract and to continue to bid upon future events. These events, as well as the future events to be awarded, bring much needed additional tax dollar benefits as well as generate positive publicity for the State and City.
The objectives are to retain the GNOSF experienced employees; manage and market the current and future events that have been awarded; continue to bid upon, secure and implement other future events; create economic opportunities for area businesses and the State overall; and, generate much needed positive publicity.
