           The Bright School is an Early Intervention Program for children who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and or language delayed. We are currently leasing from an agency in New Orleans. But, have recently purchased a location in Jefferson Parish that will enable us to increase enrollment and therefore serve additional children and families. The building as is needs to be somewhat renovated. We need to have therapy rooms constructed that will allow our staff and other service providers to deliver individualized special instruction, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. This endeavor will continue to ensure the success of our children in all areas of development.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          The Bright School serves the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and speech and language delayed community. We enroll children from 18 Months to 5 years of age. Each classroom has a certified teacher and a teacher assistant. Our ratio is typically 2 teachers to 8 children. We are the only Early Intervention program in the metropolitan area that serves this population. 85-95% of our children who exit The Bright School are fully mainstreamed into typical classrooms with their hearing peers.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The Bright School's mission is to provide speech, language, and auditory skills to those children who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Language Delayed. We are also a support for families. We have monthly parent meetings as well as monthly parent sessions. In both, we support our families to become strong empowered and informed advocates for their child or children.
