          The Gentilly Development District (GDD), was created through state legislation, receives annual funding that is used to directly benefit the community by supporting economic growth, beautification and crime prevention.

          The Gentilly Development District (GDD) provides cooperative economic development between the district, the State of Louisiana, the City of New Orleans, and the owners of businesses and property within the district in order to provide for renovation, restoration, beautification and development within the district.
