           This project will organize a community food outreach program for food insufficient families in northern East Baton Rouge parish. The goal of this project is to provide healthy foods to improve food security and improve the health of vulnerable groups especially children in vulnerable communities and food deserts.
Objectives:
1. To establish a community-based hunger program for distribution of
healthy food to low-income families and vulnerable individuals.
2. To establish a Weekend Food for Children program for students in
transition at schools in northern East Baton Rouge parish.

          The Mu Zeta Foundation, Inc. was organized exclusively for charitable, educational, cultural, literary, and community outreach purposes, which includes promotion of education and scholarship, community service and educational programs. The Mu Zeta Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity which is tax deductible to contributors. The Foundation supports Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Mu Zeta Chapter in its commitment to promoting education through scholarships and community service.

Mission:
To support higher education achievement through scholarships, promote community service and support charitable cultural, and literary purposes to improve individual and community living standards.

          The specific objectives of the Mu Foundation are to:
1. Award scholarships to qualified high school and college women.
2. Contribute to charitable organizations.
3. Support the operation of the Stork’s Nest whose goal is to
increase the number of women receiving early and regular prenatal
care to give babies a healthy start in life.
4. Support academic enhancement of elementary school children.
5. Support Z-HOPE, the national service project of Zeta Phi Beta
Sorority, Inc.
6. Provide services to address needs of vulnerable individuals and
groups the local community.
7. Support youth activities using volunteers and community
resources.

Operating Plan
The Mu Zeta Foundation supports Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Mu Zeta Chapter in its commitment to community service. The parent organization, Zeta is a “community-conscious, action-oriented organization dedicated to transforming the lives of others.” Mu Zeta Chapter has a membership of over 100 women dedicated to service will be involved in various aspects of project implementation.
