What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          Maritime Museum Louisiana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is organized for educational purposes. It is the onlu Maritime Museum in the State of Louisiana and strive to educate the public about the maritime history of the state, as well inform the public about current trends in the states maritime industry. We accomplish this through intereactive exhibits, displays of acquired artifacts, films, dioramas and photos.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          There are two primary goals of this project - 1) expose the public to the "invisinle industry" that is Louisiana's maritime industry. This will be acomplished by installing exhibits highlighting such things as Louisiana's shrimping industry, workboats supporting the energy industry, the river pilots and their important work. 2) We intend to develop programs in cooperation with schools such as Northshore Technical Community College, Southeastern Louisian University (current partners) in support of Louisiana's workforce development effort, spcifically to help feed the maritime indistry's need for qualified technical specialists, such as marine carpenters, electricians & engine technicans.
