Provide a summary of the project or program:
Bridge House / Grace House is the only treatment facility in the region that offers long-term residential treatment for the most chronic individuals suffering with substance use disorders. They remain with us for as many months as it takes for them to become stable in their recovery. Most complete in 5- 6 months, but if needed they will be here longer. Our treatment includes 3 important components:

1.) A highly qualified Clinical Team that provides individualized treatment plans as well as group and individual counseling sessions.
2.) A Modified Therapeutic Community Model emphasizing recovery skills such as teamwork, conflict resolution, personal responsibility and accountability. Residents must work together to make decisions and resolve conflicts as a group. They depend on each other to expose problematic behavior and to encourage positive steps toward recovery.
3.) A Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Program (VRC) with an emphasis on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. VRC teaches a blend of hard and soft vocational skills to become employable and supports residents in coping with the stressors of sustained employment by utilizing recovery principles.

This unique combination of treatment practices allows us to treat the whole person providing them with a lasting foundation for recovery.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
The mission of Bridge House / Grace House (BH / GH) is to provide gender sensitive treatment to men and women who have become dependent on alcohol or drugs, so that they may lead sober and productive lives. Long-term residential services are offered in an atmosphere that promotes dignity, honor and respect. These services are offered regardless of one's ability to pay.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Bridge House / Grace House (BH / GH) provides overall support to low- to moderate-income individuals who are suffering from substance use disorder (SUD). In 2023, 707 men and women were admitted into Bridge House / Grace House. Using the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations (SAMHSA) guidelines for collecting demographic information, we have determined that approximately 95.5% of those admitted in 2023 had no income from employment prior to treatment. As a part of the treatment program, those we serve participate in our Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling (VRC) Program. They are assigned a job within BH / GH during treatment learning vocational skills and how to manage sobriety with the daily stressors of a job, with the goal of establishing a foundation for long-term stable employment outside of BH / GH.
BH / GH also provides transitional housing services and support to low- to moderate-income individuals. Based on demographic analysis along SAMHSA guidelines, 67% of entrants in 2023 were homeless. Our program provides immediate transitional housing needs during treatment. Those we serve live in transitional housing while receiving treatment for SUD, up to 6 months or longer. In the later stages of treatment, those we serve are connected to transitional or permanent housing through their counselor. Those who successfully complete our program leave with a job and stable housing.

What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
