What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          The YWCA Family Empowerment Project will be operated in our Women's Empowerment Center. The Family Empowerment Project will be comprised of multi-disciplinary, trauma-informed support teams focusing on families in East Baton Rouge Parish. The challenge we seek to solve is lack of centralized social services, job training, and mental healthcare for low-income/violence impacted families in our community. Taking a holistic approach, we will address the needs of the individuals and entire familial unit when they are connected with the project. Through the use of a multi-disciplinary teams comprised of case managers, mental health clinicians, attorneys, and support staff with community connection and lived experience, we will create a program families can access when experiencing crisis to reach long-term stability and healing. Whether they are facing domestic violence, eviction, homelessness, mental health crisis, lack of access to employment, or more, the team will work with each member of the family and the larger unit to ensure their stability.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The YWCA Greater Baton Rouge built a new case management program last year to ensure accurate recordation of calls for assistance as well as case progress and outcome data for our community and legal services teams. We will add fields to the system for the Family Empowerment Project that capture
1) all calls for assistance
2) demographic and geographic data of participants, including family composition information (personal IDs redacted)
3) legal services provided and case outcomes, including but not limited to, evictions defended, protective orders filed/obtained,cases dismissed, expungement consults, benefits consults, appeals, and family court consults/case outcomes. Shouldadditional legal fields be required as the project evolves, we are able to add additional data fields as need arises.
2) Time from calls for assistance to individual service pairing
3) housing preservation - either rental assistance, emergency shelter, or relocation and lease termination depending on the safety needs of the participant
4) education and workforce development - resume and job application assistance, HiSet assistance, and childcare assistance, TWIC card applications and appeals
5) referral source (if referred by a community or gov partner)
This project's success will be demonstrated through the number of families assisted, services provided, and crises eliminated.
