           Old Algiers Main Street Corporation is dedicated to the revitalization of historic Old Algiers and equitable opportunities for its residents now and in the future. There are two training programs for those aged 18-40 to put them on a career path in health care and the film industry. We provide local residents tuition, a stipend and incidental costs. The request for this program is $25,000.
We support small businesses with promotion, business needs, tax credits as well as small improvements to their buildings. We want to provide rent subsidies for some emerging businesses in order to get them in empty buildings. We request $75,000 for that program..

          Enhance the quality of life for residents by providing skills for young people, to improve the appearance of commercial structures and to build the opportunities for emerging businesses to operate in the Old Algiers community.

          To use existing empty buildings and those that need small repairs, signage and to provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to locate their small businesses in Old Algiers (a state and national accredited Main Street program) which will provide more goods and services to the residents.
