           Teacher Certification: A+PEL's Ready to Teach Louisiana certification program addresses LA's shortage of certified Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies teachers, especially in high-need schools. Using LDOE data, the program focuses on these subjects, offers scholarships, and partners with districts for targeted preparation and efficient certification. It tackles the high percentage of uncertified and out-of-field teachers statewide.

Foundations of Freedom Training and Support: A+PEL supports Louisiana's Foundations of Freedom (Bayou Bridges) social studies curriculum implementation by offering professional development for educators. This support includes training on the curriculum's content, structure, and resources to ensure effective teaching and student engagement with the new standards-aligned materials.

          Goal: To increase the number of qualified and certified teachers in critical subject areas (Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies) within Louisiana's public schools, particularly in high-need areas, and to ensure effective implementation of the state's social studies curriculum (Foundations of Freedom) through targeted professional development for educators.

Objectives:

Teacher Certification: Increase certified Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies, and SPED teachers statewide.
