What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          1. Direct care support and supervision
Direct Care Providers provide various support and supervision to the residents including: personal respect and safety, emotional regulation, 24/7 supervision, household chores, medication management and healthy living/responding to immediate and ongoing ailments, cooking, games, activities both in-house and in the community (as appropriate), clothing and hygiene support, shopping needs, among others everyday.

2. Mental and physical health
Upon entering the Metanoia Program, residents receive full psychological evaluations, as recommended by the Supervising Practitioner, and receive treatments to assist the victims in overcoming problems. Following initial evaluations, residents make monthly visits for medical maintenance. All residents are required to participate in individual and group trauma counseling sessions, as part of the program. If drug and alcohol treatment or anger management is needed, it will be provided as well as other counseling programs.

Metanoia Manor provides the opportunity to exercise in order to maintain adequate physical health. Medical care and dental and vision care will also be provided at no cost to the residents of Metanoia Manor.

3. Education
Metanoia employs a state certified Teacher, who is bi-lingual, to provide education in-house. Metanoia is accredited by the State of Louisiana as an independent home school program. Residents can receive a diploma from “Metanoia Academy”. Homeschooling allows our residents to learn at an appropriate pace without judgement, fear and distractions. Each girl's Individualized Education Program (IEP) will determine their path forward. Education is the key to help the girls break the cycle of dependency on others including their traffickers. The girls gain self-confidence, self-worth, and independence as they transition back into a healthy lifestyle.
¿
Edgenuity® Courseware offers a full suite of core curriculum, AP®, honors, elective, dual credit, and concept and credit recovery courses for middle and high school students. The online curriculum is built using an instructional model grounded in research and aligned to state standards. Courses combine direct-instruction videos featuring expert, on-screen teachers with rigorous assignments, performance tasks, and assessments to engage students and ensure subject-area mastery.
¿
4. Life-Skills
These children have often been robbed of learning seemingly simple household skills from a parent/guardian. The staff, volunteers, and community partners dedicate time to teach life skills, such as grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, financial literacy, job applications, and respecting the value of one another. In short, the residents will be taught life skills and future employment skills so they can become self-sufficient and independent when exiting from the program.

Upon completion of the Metanoia program, the girls will be transitioned to an independent living program or transitional housing. Metanoia staff ensure that each participant is provided access to resources to continue education, psychotherapy, appropriate employment, and a safe, living situation after leaving. Metanoia staff maintain ongoing contact with the girls to ensure they are safe.
¿
Metanoia is committed to the lifelong success of every survivor we serve, including continuing to support them throughout their healing journey for as long as it takes. Girls reaching 18 years of age who are not yet ready to exit the program will be allowed to remain until age 21, or will be provided the opportunity to change to a program for young adults.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Metanoia offers refuge and restoration of self to children suffering from traumas of human trafficking. The main goal is to restore a sense of safety, self-worth, and purpose to young females within a secure and nurturing environment. Social, emotional, and educational deficiencies are addressed with a holistic approach to healing.

Goal 1: Safety
It is an overall priority that residents, staff, and all contractors feel safe.

Objective 1: Staff maintain ongoing regular contact through a group text of any emergency situations or incidents that are occuring. Staff are required to respond and ensure they are aware of any issues in the home or with the residents.

Objective 2: Upon admission, each resident is required to adhere to a 10-day period of no outside contacts or outings to ensure the safety of themselves and any other threats of harm. Residents sign an agreement to house rules which include no cell phone or internet access, regular bedroom checks, and daily chores and schedule. Residents are provided opportunities to file in-house grievances if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Staff must address the grievances within 24-hours.

Objective 2: Metanoia conducts weekly staff meetings and monthly house meetings. We review the present needs of each resident, review house rules, and ongoing updates of appointments, events, training, and other relevant information.

Objective 3: Metanoia tracks incidents that occur in the home, and reviews them quarterly to ensure all staff and contractors are responding appropriately and learning from one another.

Goal 2: Physical, Mental Health, and Educational Needs
Each resident will receive physical examinations within two weeks of admittance, as well as individualized mental and behavioral health, and educational treatment plans.

Objective 1: Within 10 days of admission, residents are scheduled for a physical and health assessment, dental and vision assessment, and gynecological exam;

Objective 2: Upon admission, residents are assessed by a contracted Psychologist to address medication needs. Within 10 days of admission, an initial service/treatment plan is developed, and within 30-days an ongoing plan is developed, within monthly updates as needed.;

Objective 3: Within 10 days of admission, an individual educational assessment and plan is developed.

Goal 3: Resident Engagement and Success:
We provide comprehensive services for each resident under a mutually developed plan of care. Collaboration between the resident, therapists, teachers, family, and survivor mentors work to establish short and long term goals for a healthy development of the residents.

Objective 1: Data for all referrals are tracked including progression or regression in mental health symptoms, physical health ailments, education, life skills, and discharge readiness.

Objective 2: Staff meet monthly to discuss each resident's progression through the programs at Metanoia. If residents are unsafe with other residents or refuse to participate in the programs, a discharge plan is discussed.
