           The Snyder Museum is located in Bastrop, Morehouse Parish. Constructed nearly 100 years ago, the Snyder Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as an important cultural and historical resource for the community. The museum houses art exhibits and historical collections and offers children’s art classes, outdoor concerts, and annual summer art programs. The facility is also available for private events, providing additional opportunities for community engagement. The building's roof is constructed with tile, and it leak's in several locations, causing damage to the ceiling and interior. Unfortunately, the building has some significant issues that are needing to be addressed. The historic tile roof leaks in several locations, resulting in damage to the ceilings and interior. The building’s original copper downspouts were stolen, allowing rainwater to accumulate beneath the structure and contribute to foundation settling. As a result, portions of the interior floor are sagging by several inches. Additionally, the existing air-conditioning unit requires replacement. The Museum would like to request $75,000 from the State to repair sections of their tile roof, install downspouts, and repair the foundation/floor. Year One's request will include planning and construction. Inspection is included in equipment, as the structural repairs to the roof and foundation must follow appropriate building codes. Since the building is a Historical site, coordination will be required with the State's Historic Preservation Officer. The cost for this coordination is also included in equipment.
