           The funds will be used to update and repair the meal delivery vans for the 150+ hot homebound meals delivered daily. 2 of the four vans need to be replaced. The other two need maintenance. Daily meals are needed by the seniors; most are single seniors with no family living in the area. Recipients are checked on in person each day. This rural poverty-stricken area has insufficient businesses to support the program other than through a millage. This funding will allow us to continue to serve the needy seniors of Madison Parish.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          To allow the seniors of Madison Parish to live the remainder of their lives in their homes as they wish. Furnishing a balanced meal each day improves the nutrition of these individuals. There are no busses, taxis or other public transportation available and very few food establishments. Gasoline and Repairs have increased dramatically. This funding is needed to keep serving the seniors of the parish.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The goal is to maintain services to those neediest seniors that need the food and personal contact daily. The goal is to replace and repair the 4 vans required to safely deliver and provide the hot meals to the seniors.
