The Vivian Athletic Association is seeking grant funding for the installation of artificial turf at its youth athletic facilities in Vivian, Louisiana. This project will improve existing playing fields by providing safer, more durable, and more reliable surfaces for youth sports programs serving Vivian and surrounding communities throughout northern Caddo Parish.

The proposed project will include necessary site preparation, groundwork, and professional installation of artificial turf. These improvements will enhance field conditions, reduce maintenance costs, minimize weather-related cancellations, and allow the facilities to accommodate more practices, games, and recreational activities throughout the year.

The Vivian Athletic Association is dedicated to providing children with opportunities to participate in organized athletics while developing teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, leadership, and healthy lifestyles. Improving these facilities will create a better environment for young athletes, coaches, families, and spectators.

Artificial turf will also provide long-term benefits by reducing the need for mowing, field preparation, and other routine maintenance associated with natural grass fields. These improvements will help the association use its resources more efficiently while maintaining quality recreational facilities.

This project is an investment in the youth and future of northern Caddo Parish. What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
The public purpose of the Vivian Athletic Association is to provide safe, accessible, and quality recreational opportunities for children and families in Vivian and surrounding communities throughout northern Caddo Parish. The requested state funding will be used to improve existing youth athletic facilities through the installation of artificial turf, creating safer, more durable, and more dependable playing surfaces for organized youth sports.

The primary goal of this project is to promote youth development, physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and community involvement through participation in recreational athletics. These programs provide children with positive, structured activities that encourage healthy lifestyles, build confidence, and teach valuable life skills.

The installation of artificial turf will improve field conditions, reduce weather-related cancellations, decrease ongoing maintenance expenses, and increase the availability of athletic facilities for practices, games, and community activities. These improvements will help ensure that children have access to quality recreational opportunities regardless of their families' financial circumstances.

As a rural community, Vivian and the surrounding areas have limited resources for major recreational facility improvements. State funding will help address these needs by supporting improvements to existing public-serving athletic facilities rather than requiring the construction of new facilities.

The project will also benefit the broader community by encouraging family participation, supporting local youth sports programs, and providing facilities capable of hosting athletic events that bring visitors into the area and support local businesses.

Through the responsible use of state funds, the Vivian Athletic Association seeks to make a lasting investment in youth recreation, community development, and the overall quality of life in northern Caddo Parish. These improvements will serve current and future generations of young athletes while strengthening the community through organized sports and recreational opportunities.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
The primary goal of the Vivian Athletic Association is to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of youth athletic facilities through the installation of artificial turf. This project will provide long-term benefits to children, families, and the surrounding communities of northern Caddo Parish.

The goals and objectives of this project include:

Improve Athletic Facilities: Upgrade existing playing fields with durable artificial turf to provide safer, more consistent, and reliable playing surfaces for youth sports programs.

Increase Youth Participation: Encourage more children to participate in organized sports by providing quality facilities that promote physical activity, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal development.

Reduce Maintenance Costs: Decrease expenses associated with mowing, field preparation, and ongoing maintenance, allowing the association to direct more resources toward youth programs and recreational opportunities.

Increase Field Availability: Reduce weather-related cancellations and improve field usability, allowing more opportunities for practices, games, tournaments, and other athletic activities.

Support Rural Communities: Provide improved recreational opportunities for children and families in Vivian and surrounding rural areas who may have limited access to quality athletic facilities.

Promote Community Involvement: Strengthen community relationships by encouraging participation from families, volunteers, coaches, local businesses, and community organizations.

Ensure Long-Term Sustainability: Invest in durable athletic improvements that will serve current and future generations while reducing long-term maintenance requirements.

The Vivian Athletic Association will accomplish these objectives through proper project planning, responsible management of grant funds, coordination with qualified contractors, and oversight of the turf installation process.
