Provide a summary of the project or program:
STREETS 2 STAGE proposes to implement the From Streets to Stage Youth Creative Intervention, Performing Arts & Delinquency Prevention Initiative, an ongoing youth development program serving children and adolescents throughout Region 8 in North Louisiana.
The program is designed to provide constructive alternatives to juvenile delinquency, violence, negative peer influences, and unproductive activities by engaging young people in performing arts, creative expression, educational intervention, mentoring, leadership development, and life-skills education.
Through partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and youth-serving institutions, Streets 2 Stage will provide structured programming during school hours, after school, during summer months, and through community-based activities.
Program activities will include theatrical productions, educational stage plays, music, singing, dance, spoken word, poetry, creative writing, drawing, painting, fashion design, visual arts, and production experiences. Educational performances will address bullying, peer pressure, conflict resolution, violence prevention, self-esteem, school responsibility, emotional regulation, and positive decision-making.
The program will also provide mentoring, leadership training, communication development, personal responsibility education, and career exposure to help youth discover their talents, develop confidence, and pursue productive opportunities.
Streets 2 Stage seeks to serve at least 100 youth during the funded period and achieve an 80% retention or completion rate among participants enrolled in multi-session programming. The organization will document participation, program activities, creative achievements, partnerships, and participant development outcomes.
The requested $250,000 state appropriation will support qualified program personnel, school-based intervention, performing arts activities, transportation, educational productions, equipment, creative materials, mentoring, program coordination, administration, and accountability measures.
The initiative is designed for continuous operation, with long-term sustainability supported through school partnerships, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, private donations, fundraising, and additional funding opportunities.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
Streets 2 Stage is designed to provide children and adolescents throughout North Louisiana with positive alternatives to juvenile delinquency, violence, negative peer influences, and other challenges affecting youth development. Through performing arts, creative expression, mentoring, leadership development, and life-skills education, our program will help young people discover their talents, build confidence, develop discipline, and make responsible decisions. Partnering with local schools and community organizations will allow us to provide intervention programs during school hours, after school, and throughout the summer. State funding will help expand access to these services, provide safe and productive environments for youth, and create opportunities that encourage educational success, personal growth, and productive citizenship.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Our goals are to engage children and adolescents throughout North Louisiana through theater, music, dance, spoken word, creative writing, visual arts, fashion, and educational stage productions while providing mentoring, leadership training, conflict resolution, decision-making, and life-skills development. We aim to establish partnerships with local schools to provide creative intervention programs that help students manage behavioral challenges, improve communication, strengthen self-esteem, and develop positive relationships. Through school-based intervention, after-school programs, summer activities, workshops, and community performances, we seek to serve at least 500 youth annually, increase access to positive creative outlets, and provide constructive alternatives to juvenile delinquency and negative influences. Our long-term goal is to build a sustainable youth development program that strengthens families, supports schools, and contributes to safer, healthier communities throughout North Louisiana.
