Provide a summary of the project or program:
           The Chestnut-Readhimer Water System is seeking funding opportunities to construct a new ground storage tank. The Chestnut-Readhimer Water System is a small System Sabine Parish, around the town of Saline, with approximately 204 customers. The ground storage tank is located at their Water Treatment and Pumping Plant. Once the well water is treated, the water enters the tank for storage and the main supply pumps pull from the tank. The existing tank has deteriorated and the tank is leaking. If the tank is not replaced, it will eventually fail, leaving customers without water. The System has applied for grants, but has not received funds to date. The leaking tank is a violation of the Louisiana Sanitary Code, as the State has concerns that leaking tanks can allow untreated ground water, rain water, bugs, dirt, etc. to enter the tank and be distributed to customers. The State has issued a violation in the Sanitary Survey they performed in October, 2025.

The System has been applying for grants with no success. In the last week, they were informed that their DRA application was not funded. They would like to request some general appropriations, as they do not have enough customers to enter into the State DWLRF revolving loan program or USDA RD.
