§288.9. Extension of subsidy
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the department may extend an adoption
or guardianship subsidy to the adoptive parent or guardian with whom the department
established a subsidy arrangement for a youth who initially was adopted from or entered
guardianship from foster care and began receiving the adoption or guardianship subsidy after
age sixteen, but prior to age eighteen, if the adoptive parents or guardians remain financially
responsible for the youth and the youth meets the same criteria for eligibility set forth in R.S.
46:288.3 to participate in the state's extended foster care program.
