§3722. Definitions
As used in this Chapter, except where the context clearly requires otherwise, the
following words and phrases shall have the following meanings:
(1) "Community health worker" means an individual who serves as a liaison for
community members to facilitate access to health and social services and to improve quality
and cultural competence of service delivery through outreach, education, support, and
advocacy. "Community health worker" does not include an individual who provides clinical
services.
(2) "Department" means the Louisiana Department of Health.
