§610. Retirement; purchase of service firearm

            Any member of the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System who is a commissioned officer employed by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry pursuant to R.S. 3:734 or 4274.1, who has at least ten years of active service, and who retires under the provisions of R.S. 11:441 shall be entitled to purchase his service firearm at fair market value upon retirement, subject to the approval of the commissioner of agriculture and forestry.
