§1026.3. Definitions
As used in this Part:
(1) "Authorized prescriber" means a licensed physician, dentist, or other health care
provider authorized by law to prescribe drugs, medications, medical devices or appliances,
and health care regimens.
(2) "Department" means the Louisiana Department of Health.
(3) "Licensed long-term care facility" means any of the following:
(a) Nursing home as defined in R.S. 40:2009.2.
(b) Adult residential care provider as defined in R.S. 40:2166.3.
(4) "Medication attendant" means a person who, pursuant to this Part, has completed
a medication administration course approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, passed
an examination for medication attendants approved by the Louisiana Department of Health,
and received a current certification from the Louisiana Department of Health.
