§1407. Appointment of agent for service of process
NOTE: §1407 eff. until June 12, 2025, for certain purposes, and eff. until Jan. 1, 2026, for
all other purposes. See Acts 2024, No. 640 and Acts 2025, No. 386.
By filing notice of candidacy a candidate appoints the clerk of court for each parish
in which he is to be voted on as his agent for service of process in any action objecting to his
candidacy, contesting his qualification as a candidate in a general election, or contesting his
election to office.
