§140.36. Enforcement and remedies
The city council may provide for the enforcement of any code, ordinance, or other
measure enacted under this Subpart. A violation of any such code, ordinance, or other
measure is hereby declared a misdemeanor. In case any building or structure is or is
proposed to be constructed, reconstructed, altered, extended, converted, or maintained in
violation of any code or ordinance enacted under this Subpart, the building inspector, permit
or zoning clerk, municipal counsel, or other appropriate authority of the municipality, or any
adjacent or neighboring property owner who would be specifically damaged by such
violation, may, in addition to other remedies, institute injunction, mandamus, or other
appropriate action or proceeding to prevent such unlawful construction, reconstruction,
alteration, extension, conversion, maintenance, or use, or to correct or abate such violation,
or to prevent the occupancy of such building.
