§70. Physicians and emergency medical personnel
A. For each boxing, mixed technique, or professional wrestling event, the promoter
shall appoint a physician, determined by the commission to be competent and of good
standing, who shall examine each contestant before the contestant enters the ring, and who
shall say whether the contestant is in physical condition to participate as advertised. The
physician shall be present at the ringside. The physician shall render such advice or service
as the commission requests. The fees of the physician for each individual event shall be paid
by the club promoting the event and shall be reasonable and customary for the size and
location of the event.
B. Each club promoting a boxing, mixed technique, or professional wrestling event
shall pay for and obtain the attendance of emergency medical personnel to include no less
than two attendants and an ambulance which shall be in attendance throughout each event.
C. Any physician so appointed by the promoter shall be an independent contractor
of the commission, not an employee.
